Dainese Rossi Gloves Specifications & Construction Details

Outer Layer

Valentino Rossi replica, made to order. 0.8-0.9 mm cowhide leather construction delivers durability and tear resistance, a core element of motorcycle racing gear designed for high-speed abrasion defence.
Leather reinforcement between the thumb and index finger enhances grip and withstands repeated friction during aggressive cornering and braking inputs.
Rubber protection with air intakes and exhaust port boosts cooling performance during long race stints, preventing heat buildup across the knuckle and finger zones.
Valentino Rossi VR46-inspired TPU sliders on the palm, thumb, and fingers sit on poly-foam backing for targeted impact absorption and abrasion resistance at high-contact pressure points.
Pre-curved palm and fingers deliver a form-fitting, race-ready grip matched to the hand position on a MotoGP race bike.
Integrated flexible knuckles provide discreet protection without adding bulk or restricting wrist mobility.

Inner Layer

Velcro strap wrist closures secure the gloves in place for safety during a slide or fall, with dual closure points for redundant fit control.
Safety stitching with high-strength nylon thread enhances durability and ensures long-lasting wear through repeated track sessions and crashes.
Carbon-Reinforced Metal Knuckle Protector absorbs and distributes impact energy across the knuckle zone, matching the protection spec of race-grade gloves worn in MotoGP competition.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Valentino Rossi 2017-2018 MotoGP gloves are constructed from 0.8–0.9 mm cowhide leather, the same material spec used in professional race gloves. Cowhide leather at this thickness balances abrasion resistance with dexterity, allowing you to feel the throttle and brake inputs during high-speed cornering. The leather is reinforced between the thumb and index finger—the highest-friction contact zone during aggressive riding. Hand-stitched made-to-order construction since 2009 ensures every pair is built to order, not mass-produced. This answer applies to the dainese Rossi gloves on this page.

The Valentino Rossi MotoGP gloves feature a Carbon-Reinforced Metal Knuckle Protector that absorbs and distributes impact energy across the knuckle zone—the most vulnerable contact point in a slide. TPU sliders on the palm, thumb, and fingers sit on poly-foam backing, which compresses on impact to reduce energy transfer to your hand. The rubber protector includes air intakes and an exhaust port to prevent heat buildup during long race stints, keeping your hands cool and responsive. The 0.8–0.9 mm cowhide leather resists tearing and puncturing, and the reinforced thumb-to-index-finger panel adds durability at the grip zone. These gloves are built to the same protection spec as professional MotoGP race gloves, not generic riding gloves.

Yes. The Valentino Rossi 2017-2018 MotoGP gloves are offered in Blue and Yellow, matching the season-accurate livery of Valentino Rossi's Yamaha Factory Racing kit during the 2017-2018 MotoGP season. The colour options, hand-stitched construction, and race-grade cowhide leather combine to deliver an authentic replica that captures both the visual identity and the protection spec of the dainese Rossi gloves Rossi wore on track. These are not generic race gloves with a rider name attached—they are built to match the season-specific design and construction standard of his actual race gear.

Every pair is made to order and ships in 10 to 15 working days from order confirmation. Nothing waits in a warehouse: the gloves are cut and hand-stitched after the order is placed, which is why the lead time is longer than an off-the-shelf product. Delivery covers 50+ countries and tracking is sent by email when the parcel leaves the workshop; transit time after that depends on the destination and is listed on the Shipping & Delivery page. Allow the full lead time if the gloves are needed for a fixed date.

Wipe the leather down with a soft dry cloth after use and let it dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sun. Condition the 0.8-0.9 mm cowhide leather every few months with a small amount of leather conditioner worked in with a cloth, then buff. Store the gloves on a wide hanger or flat in a breathable bag, never in plastic. Salt, rain and sweat marks come off with a slightly damp cloth before conditioning. Avoid machine washing, solvents and heat; a leather specialist can refresh the finish if it dulls after years of use. Leather Collection has hand-stitched leather to order since 2009 and the Help Center answers care questions before you order.
